  • Thursday, February 02 7:30pm - Evening of Cards ----at Tom Galvin's home (1609 Wedgeland Drive, Raleigh)

    • An Evening of Cards will be hosted by Tom Galvin at his home, where there will be tables for bridge and canasta players. Hope Clukey is co-host. We gather between 7 and 7:30pm. The games begin at 7:30. People planning on attending should call Tom at 919-844-3996 or email him at thomasfgalvin@gmail.com at least two days in advance to make reservations for the card game of their choice. Directions: From Crabtree Valley Mall, take Lead Mine Road 3 miles north (passing 4 traffic lights) to Wedgeland Drive. Turn left, and drive 0.2 miles to 1609 Wedgeland Drive. It’s a brick house on the left.

    • Country Night at The Longbranch of Raleigh, 8pm-12am - Come out to the Longbranch of Raleigh and enjoy some Country Music and Dancing, including Two-Step, Swing, Slow, Free Style, and Line Dancing. Admission is $6 before 9pm and $8 after 9pm if you are a member of the Longbranch or Triangle Singles Club; otherwise, admission is $16. At first they have a DJ, and around 9:30pm a live band will start. This is a smoke-free club with two great wood floors, pool tables and a cash bar.   • Sunday, February 05, 5:00pm - Super Bowl Potluck - is at the home of Charlotte Hoffman in north Durham.

    • Charlotte has six TV’s to watch the game, but if you don’t want to do that, you can socialize with the folks there. It will be a great time, as always. Limited to the first 50 people to RSVP, no later than Friday, February 3rd, by calling Charlotte at 919-479-7170. If you leave a message, please leave your first and last names, phone number, and the dish you would like to bring to the potluck.

    Directions to Northbrook Country Club:
    From Glenwood Ave., turn on Leadmine Road (across from Crabtree Mall), then make an immediate right at the first traffic light from Leadmine Road onto North Hills Drive. Stay on North Hills Drive until you get to the traffic light at Northbrook Drive and just past the light (still on North Hills Dr.) on your left is the entrance to Northbrook Country Clubhouse.
