Thursday, October 02 - An Evening of Cards: 7:00-9:30 pm. The Evening of Cards will be co-hosted by Tom Galvin and Emily Newkirk at Tom’s home.
Card games for the evening include bridge and canasta. Let's gather between 7 and 7:30pm. The games begin at 7:30. Players should call 919-844-3996 or email thomasfgalvin@gmail.com at least 2 days in advance to make reservations for the game of their choice. DIRECTIONS: From Crabtree Valley, take Lead Mine Road 3 miles (4 traffic lights) to Wedgeland Drive. Turn left, and drive 0.2 mile to 1609 Wedgeland Drive. It’s a brick house on the left. The address is on the mail box.

Wednesday, October 8: Raleigh / Cary Dinner Out at the Bonefish Grill, 2060 Renaissance Park Place, Cary.
Enjoy modern interpretation of market fresh, grilled specialties and big city cocktails in the rich sophisticated ambiance of your local Bonefish grill. Social hour begins at 6:00 pm with dinner at 6:30 pm. Contact Robert Whiddon (919-471-4175 or rwhid46@msn.com no later than Tuesday October 9 for reservations. Directions: From I40 take the Harrison Ave. exit a proceed toward Cary and take right on Renaissance Park Place.

Saturday, October 11: 33rd Anniversary Ball at the 8:00 - 12:00 Midnight at the Jones Center, 309 Holleman Street, Apex, NC.
Dance to the music of "Too Soon To Tell" with Thom Horne... Dress is semi-formal. Admission is $10.00 per person for members and $15.00 for single guests. Directions: From Northbrook, take 440 South towards Sanford/Apex. Exit at Ten / Ten Road. Turn left at light at end of exit and follow until the road dead ends at Salem Street. Turn left onto Salem Street. Go two blocks and turn right onto Holleman Street (at SunTrust Bank).

Wednesday, October 29: Durham / Chapel Hill Dinner Out at the Farm House, 6004 Mill House Road, Chapel Hill (919-929-5727).
This restaurant is one of a kind, and it’s hidden in the woods. Be creative, join the parade and see if your get-up is the most startling costume. Remember, this is almost Halloween Night! Social Hour begins at 5:30 pm with seating for dinner at 6:30 pm. Call Charlotte Hoffman at (919) 370-7877 no later than Tuesday, October 29th to make your reservation. Directions: From Raleigh, Take I-40 west and exit onto Old 86 at Exit 266. Turn away from Chapel Hill and go about 1 mile. Just before the RR tracks, Mt. Sinai Road will be on the right. There, you turn left before the tracks, drive past the barbeque place on the corner and proceed. Do not cross the RR tracks on the right, but keep on the dirt road until you come to the very end. And, there is the Farm House. This begins Charlotte’s 13th year as our Hostess. Also, REMEMBER THIS IS almost HALLOWEEN NIGHT AND YOU ARE URGED TO DRESS APPROPRIATELY!

Friday, October 31: Northbrook “Halloween” Dance 8:30 - 11:00 pm. Dance Lesson 8:00 - 8:30
Everyone is urged to wear their favorite Halloween costume and prizes will be awarded for the best costume. There may be some tricks and there may be some treats. Either way, you’re sure to have a great time and dance to the music of Herb Estes and "The Gravediggers".

From Glenwood Ave., turn on Leadmine Road (across from Crabtree Mall), then make an immediate right at the first traffic light from Leadmine Road onto North Hills Drive. Stay on North Hills Drive until you get to the traffic light at Northbrook Drive and just past the light (still on North Hills Dr.) on your left is the entrance to Northbrook Country Clubhouse.
